I used to not tell people that I was country music fan but now I proudly embrace all of my music tastes. I never liked the "my dog got ran over and my wife left too" style of county music but I definitely enjoyed listening to artists like LeAnn Rimes and Shania Twain when I was younger. I discovered Rissi Palmer last year on MySpace and her catchy "Country Girl" song had me hooked. She's been getting press all over the place: The New York Post, People, Ebony, CNN and in a recent interview with Christianity Today, Palmer talks about the importance of her faith.
She's got that right. There are plenty of wrong directions in the entertainment industry. Too many young women get caught up in fame game and end up falling apart in the process (i.e. Britney Spears & Lindsay Lohan). It's sad. However, it's refreshing to know that music artists like Palmer are out there trying to be a light.
Watch Palmer's "Country Girl" music video, it will make you smile.

This is so good - and true. You and I have a lot of the same dreams, so I can see why this resonated with you. That discernment thing is my prayer too. That and one of my favorites - Ps 19:14 "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer."
That's a great scripture. I need some more discernment too. One of my favorites is Philippians 4:8 - it reminds me to keep pressing on and focus on all the beautiful things God has created. Plus, it's the inspiration for my blog's title.
Philippians 4:8 is what I keep in mind for my blog as well! "Think on these things" - I love it. There should be an organization for people in the entertainment industry who want to think this way. You have to start it though because I am not entrepreneurial enough. :)

I think she a very talented young women. The song is very catchy if I say so myself. I also think that is so amazing that she staying so true to her beliefs in GOD ! You don't see that a lot in the "Hollywood" Scene. That's cool that she prays for discerment then a # 1 album or song. I believe that she was have blessed and long successful career
